Every time I turn my laptop on, I usually head straight to bloglines and read some new feeds. Here are my favourites:

Balla Dora Typo-Grafika – Creative typography at its best.

FFFOUND! – Anything innovated, weird and new gets posted here, usually a good source of inspiration.

FormFiftyFive – Again, another good material resource.

Swiss Legacy – Any new fonts or interesting uses of typography I usually look here.

i love typography – Again, more typography articles.

ISO50 Blog – Scott Hansen, designer, film-maker and composer posts news on pretty much anything he comes across, usually comes across as quite interesting.

It’s Nice That – More inspiration on anything design related, most of it’s pretty good.

Motion Served – I’m starting to become a fan on Motion Graphics and anything related to it, this is a good source for showing any talent towards it.

Motionographer – Same as above ^

NOTCOT – Like FFFound, but with less nudity.

PlayStation Blog Europe – I gotta love my PS3, any news on it and it’s right here.

PUBLIC SCHOOL – Some amazing work from this studio.

Smashing Magazine – Maybe too many tutorials on coding for my liking, but this blog has some great articles, tips, advice and relevant tutorials for any student.

The Stranger Attractor – Any new talent gets posted here, I look out for them.

Back from Budapest

Facebook, Twitter but not yet have I posted on my blog/feed that I have returned from Hungary’s wonderful city of Budapest at the Sziget music festival, which absolutely rocked! Six days sleeping on the hard earthy floor with 24 hours of non-stop music making its way into my ears; can withstand any competition against the best experiences of my life so far.

Now, before I punch myself in the face, I am going to tell you why I am about to punch myself in the face. You see that blank empty space below this text, where you’d think there should be an image of some sort, like a picture at Sziget of me being drunk or a photograph of Pendulum playing at Sziget from the mosh pit? Well yeah, out of everything I remembered, I forgot to bring the most vital thing of all things to take with me before I left…

My camera.

Summer Projects

Just as things got quiet after finally sending out some CV’s to some, and attempting to start the evil 8,000 dissertation. A summer project arrives; with 2 ‘doing’, 1 ‘reading’, 3 ‘hitting’ (joke) tasks.
Anyway, one was to ‘do’ a project around the concept of time, so I’ve decided to start it:

I’m thinking of making this revolve around how time will one day just grind to a halt. Surely it can’t last forever? Is time something that only exists within our definition? Will it stop once we stop existing? I dunno…

owse. email me if there’s any bugs or general errors which need fixing.

There’s not alot there. But this is just the beginning of more to come.

There hasn’t been much posting in a while, but finally after two weeks, much frustration and a broken Wacom pen it’s finally done. I’ve completed my site and now it’s live, please take a few moments to have a quick br

Year 2. Epilogue

The second year of University ended earlier this week. And I know it’s typical to say this, but the two years I’ve spent here has managed to go so fast; I haven’t really had the chance to catch a breath of it.

So it’s now summer for me for the next sixteen weeks, and I hope there’s things I can do to keep myself occupied. So far I have a music video to help develop, an After Effects challenge against another student, a fantastically boring dissertation to write and a placement to get! So far my favourites to work for are BEARFIGHT studio and Empire Design.

That then brings me to the third year. The third year is going to be massive. I hope I push myself harder than ever before to get the grade I want next semester. Let alone the work to interest clients. The current third years End of Year Show was pretty darn impressive, I want to match their potential.

I managed to hand in my screen based submission on Tuesday. Not massively happy with it, but I’ll redo the majority of it later. It should keep the assessors occupied for the time being. Also, it’s finally begun. With the help from a friend, I’m finally taking up playing the guitar. Hopefully I’ll get good after planning on playing for all these years.

Hurrah!

Morning all. I’ve done and achieved a few things today. I can now walk without the aid of crutches. Yes, my plaster cast was removed and replaced with a scotch cast, which allows me to apply weight onto (don’t ask how I got a cast) so I can (kinda) move about freely without hoping over from place to place. But also more importantly; everything that’s to do with coding and website handling is complete. Again, I’ve gone through another phase of coding my blogs CSS and it’s now completely finalised. I hated my previous blog appearance and refused to blog because of it. So hopefully, more blog posts coming!

But also, I have a web portfolio on the go. A few students in my course are beginning to do the same, so why not follow the trend?

Why is this happening?

Just to let you know. It’s 3:00am and it’s the day of hand-in, and so far this has managed to keep me up so late:

Macbook Charger – Not working
Adobe Creative Suite – Not working
= Print outs – Not working

I find it strange, that the day before the hand-in all these problems occur simultaneously. I guess something out there doesn’t like me too much…

Installation

It happened… our group got picked out of the hat, and we were asked to design and setup an installation in the front window of our design building. Luckily we had a design, which was based on the idea of using perspective. These images should explain it better to you:
